How come you have moose on this blog? I thought it was for deer?
The Deer covers all animals in cervidae family. This effectively means what many would think of as white-tailed deer and Red deer, but also extends to roe, chital, moose, elk, reindeer and more. Read more about The Deer here.

Where do you stand on the killing of deer?
The killing of animals for food is a huge moral issue, especially with science discovering more and more about animal consciousness. Personally, I approve of the cull as it aims to aid the deer populations by improving the standard of life. By keeping the population size at an optimum for the amount of food and space the environment can provide, deer have the best life. When it comes to hunting for a sport, I’m not so sure I agree but I can’t see another way to give an incentive to hunt for the cull.

What is the plural of moose?
It’s just moose. Not meese. Not mooses.
It follows the same rule as sheep. You can say “there is a sheep” and “there are two sheep” . It is the same for moose: “there are twelve angry moose - we should run.”
Are caribou and reindeer the same thing?
Yep. They are known as reindeer in Europe and Asia and caribou in North America.
What do I do if I find a fawn?
DO NOT MOVE IT. Part of a fawn’s protection while they get their strength up to follow their mother is lying still in long grass. Nine times out of ten there’s nothing wrong and the mother will be back shortly. Read more.
